Benning Qu, male, Born in September 1956，Professor of Department of Engineering Mechanics，master tutor, Famous Teacher of Yunnan province. .In January 1982, he graduated from Kunming Institute of technology with a bachelor's degree in Engineering Mechanics. In 1983, he passed the Kunming Institute of Technology graduate student of Engineering Mechanics and graduated in July 1986 with a master's degree. In the same year he stayed there to teach Engineering Mechanics. He was dean of the department of engineering mechanics, member of the education working committee of The Chinese Society of Mechanics and secretary-general of Yunnan Society of Mechanics. He is a specially invited member of the China Education Association of Specialized Committee of the Chinese Society of Mechanics and vice president of Yunnan Mechanical Society.
He was a senior visiting scholar in Germany in 1997.He engaged in mechanical teaching and research work for a long time. He lectures on “theoretical mechanics”, “engineering mechanics”, “elasticity mechanics”, “vibration mechanics” and “special topics on theoretical mechanics ”for undergraduate；He lectures on master's and doctoral students' “principles of mechanical variation”, “computational mechanics”, “nonlinear elasticity” and “vibration mechanics”. As chief editor, he published textbook of “Engineering Mechanics” (Science Press, to third Edition) and “Theoretical Mechanics” (Chongqing University Press), He presided over the compilation of the provincial 12th Five-Year planning textbook "theoretical mechanics" and "Engineering Mechanics". He participated in the textbook ofEngineering Computational Mechanics(Mechanical Industry Press). He conducted 2 projects for the Application of Basic Research Fund in Yunnan province and 2 projects entrusted by the enterprise government. He participated in various projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Yunnan science and Technology Commission key project and the Yunnan Application Basic Research Fund project of 11 items. He presided over the construction of "theoretical mechanics" won National top-quality courses (2007) "; basic mechanics, won Yunnan province superior courses (2007) and “Fundamental Mechanics Teaching Team "won the Teaching Team of Yunnan Province (2010). In 2010, he won the Famous Teacher's Studio in Yunnan Province. He won the second prize of Yunnan Province Excellent Teaching Award in 2001 (rank 1)；In 2009 and 2013 respectively he won the first Prize of Teaching Achievement in Yunnan province (rank 5 and 2). In 1996, he won the second prize of the excellent teaching material of the Ministry of Machine and Industry. In 2009, he won a Prize of Excellent Textbook of Yunnan Province；In 1994 and 1998 respectively, he won the Teaching Excellence Award at university. In 2004 he won the first prize of Excellent Teaching at University. In 2003 he won the University Award for Outstanding Teaching Results. In 2003, he won the two prize of Excellent Teaching Achievement；He has published 24 teaching and research papers. His teaching work is well received by the experts and the students.
In 1993, he was awarded the two prize of scientific and technological progress in Yunnan province (rank 5). In 1999, he was awarded the three prize of Natural Science in Yunnan (rank 1). In 1995, he was awarded the golden prize of China invention at the Ninth China Invention Exhibition (rank 2). He published more than 30 scientific papers and a patent for invention (Rank 2).
In 1998, he was awarded as National Excellent Mechanics Teacher. In 2007, he was awarded the first batch of Famous Teachers of higher education in Yunnan. In 2009, he was award Outstanding Teacher of Wu-Da-Guan Education Funds；In 2012, he was awarded Outstanding Teacher of Honghe Hongyun gardener.
