Engineering Mechanics: This major mainly learn the basic theory and basic knowledge, such as the Mathematic, the Mechanics, the Experimental Analysis, and so on. Students also are trained with engineering technology and experimental technology. It trains the student’s capability of solving engineering problems by computer and modern experiment technology. This major trains students to work on scientific research, technology development, engineering design of Mechanics and mechanics teaching. The major is a provincial key and characteristic major in Yunnan Province. There are the first level doctor degrees of Mechanics, a post-doctoral research center of Engineering Mechanics, the first level master degrees and the discipline levels are complete. The teachers in the major are very qualified persons: 12 professors, 11 associate professors, 1 famous teacher, and 16doctors. Degree to Be Awarded: Bachelor of Engineering.

Brief Introduction:
The doctoral students trained in this subject should be provided with the ability to carry out independent research, including the ability to solve the problems of dynamic, vibration and control in practical engineering, the ability to carry out the key link of this study independently, the ability of organization and coordination, the apply practical ability and so on.

Brief Introduction:
This discipline focuses on the basic theory of fluid mechanics, engineering application and the development of interdiscipline, closely relates to the needs of projects on academic foreland and the development of national economy, trains doctoral students to have the ability to conduct high-level research independently, including the ability of putting forward and finding the related issues in engineering, modeling and analysis using the theory of fluid mechanics, combining with the knowledge of different disciplines and independent problem solving skills.

Brief Introduction:
This subject focus on the combination of the basic theory of mechanics and engineering application, and training professional and technical personnel to solve important engineering and technical problems. 1. Hydraulic Structure Engineering
Brief Introduction:
The master's degree is based on elastic-plastic mechanics, structural dynamics, geotechnical mechanics, computer application technology etc. And linking theory with practice, on the basis of exploring the principles of hydraulic structure analysis and design principle, it focuses on cultivating students' ability to find problems and solve problems. This discipline has formed characteristics in the calculation of hydraulic structure, reliability analysis of hydraulic structure, high slope processing technology, engineering hydraulics theory & application, characteristics and damage of concrete mechanics, experimental measurement technology etc. It formed the academic echelon of middle-aged academic leaders and they completed a number of national science foundation projects, won a number of awards and got good social and economic benefits.
